Planned and executed the largest event of the year
This convening of funders, grantees, and other stakeholders was a pivotal moment for the fund where the most important players in the Michigan criminal legal ecosystem came together to share accomplishments, plan for the future, and make investments.

Vision
Once a year, the Michigan Justice Fund (MJF) convenes partners, funders, subject matter experts, and other stakeholders in Detroit, MI to exchange knowledge and strategize for the upcoming year.
This was a two day event, with a reception on Monday evening and an 8 hour learning session on Tuesday.
MJF has resourced over 80 organizations in order to strengthen the criminal legal reform ecosystem in Michigan. Our partners made incredible strides in 2022, including passing Clean Slate legislation which expunged the criminal records over over 200,000 Michiganders, creating Peer Led Re-Entry programs, and improving the quality of life for thousands of currently and formerly incarcerated individuals.
Budget
This two day event had a budget of $75,000.
This was the most consequential event of the year and each small detail became significant.
I collected and compared quotes, decided how funds should be allotted, spent months brainstorming what the event would need, and identified small details that would make the event memorable and feel high end.
Vendors
I coordinated with over 25 vendors to bring this event to life.
These included caterers, florists, printing companies, venues, furniture and linen rentals, an illustrator, photographers, and more.
This required an intense attention to detail and organizational skills. I was in constant communication with each vendor.
On the day of the event, I was the main point of contact for all vendors. I supervised the set up and checked in with vendors throughout the event.
Marketing
Throughout the event, my team created branded collateral including brochures, agendas, stickers, mugs, posters, signage, folders, and more.
Each was beautifully designed by the communications team and meticulously edited and proofread by myself.
Execution
To prepare for the event, I had developed a detailed run of show that documented when all vendors arrived, which tasks we should complete and in which order, delegated assignments to team members, and supervised the setup of all elements.
This level of organization and pre-planning allowed myself and the team to enjoy the event, greet guests, and participate in the planned program.
